Border BioBlitz 2020

Help conserve our borderlands

March 28 - April 30

COVID-19 UPDATE

Border BioBlitz group events have been cancelled. With ongoing concerns about the spread of COVID-19, commonly known as the coronavirus, Border BioBlitz partners are following best practices related to increased sanitization efforts, including cancelling events that bring people physically together unnecessarily. We are encouraging staff, volunteers, and visitors to follow recommended protocols related to staying healthy.

The Border BioBlitz iNaturalist project is still active and individuals are welcome to make observations on their own and identify observations remotely. Find more information on how to identify observations here.

The safety and well-being of our community members and staff is always a priority.

The Border BioBlitz is made possible thanks to partnerships with Botanical Community Development Initiatives, Next Generation Sonoran Desert Researchers, and community members like you.

What is a BioBlitz?

A BioBlitz is a 24-hour effort to document as many species of wild plants and animals in a given area at a time. Both scientists and citizen scientists join in on the fun collectively gallivanting around in search of birds, mammals, spiders, insects, plants, reptiles, amphibians and more!
