Whether you are an exploring tourist or a curious local, we put all the important information you need in one place to make your visit great!
We are currently under construction while we install a new roof over the Atrium and green our building (learn more). We're back to relatively normal operations beginning December 7, with the exception of Level 4 being closed until spring 2026. A small pocket gallery on Level 3 will remain closed for a few more weeks. The good news is that the basement is now open with a brand-new experience, Amazement in the Basement, so you still have four floors to explore.
Please enjoy the following exhibitions, which make up a majority of the museum experience.
As mentioned above, Expedition Baja on Level 4 remains off view while we finish the construction. It will be refreshed, reinstalled, and reopened in spring 2026! A small pocket gallery on Level 3 housing Specimen Spotlight: Baleen Whale Evolution is temporarily closed but will reopen in a few weeks.
Yes! Both Gold Leaf and The Craft Taco are open and ready to welcome you. They are now back in their permanent locations in the Atrium. Museum admission is not required to visit these businesses.
The Fig Tree Entrance (north) is now open, and the Fountain Entrance on the Museum's south side off the Prado walkway remains open as well. The temporary west entrance (off Village Place) is now closed to visitors. Click here for a handy visual (see Entrances).
The lot directly east of the Museum along Park Blvd. has limited capacity due to construction staging, but the additional lots are open. Keep in mind we’re just a few steps away from a bus stop, so public transit is a great option, as is ride sharing. Please note: the city will implement paid parking beginning January 5 (learn more here), and also for December Nights on Dec. 5 and 6.
We are open 10 AM–5 PM daily and closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Buy tickets here. We are also open late on select Fridays. Before your visit, be sure to check our website for any last-minute closures or updates!
Here is parking information, directions to the Museum, and options for public transit—there's a bus stop practically at our doorstep! Learn more.
Settle into the 300-seat, stadium-style theater and enjoy nature documentaries and adventure movies on the massive screen. All films are included with paid admission. See what's currently showing.
Cost should not be a barrier to enjoying the Museum. That’s why The Nat offers many free admission programs, including Museums for All, Resident Free Days, and more. Learn more.
